Rockstar has announced no frame-rate targets and no graphics modes for GTA 6. Everything on this page beyond that sentence is leak or analyst reading, and should be treated that way.

The Rock and Borys leak

On June 29, 2026, Borys Nieśpielak, host of the Polish podcast Rock and Borys, claimed GTA 6 has two graphics modes in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X: a 30fps quality mode and a 60fps performance mode. Per the same claim, the 60fps mode may not be optimized in time for the November 19, 2026 launch and could instead arrive in a later patch, the Xbox Series S is locked at 30fps, and the development team is in serious crunch. The podcast has a real prior hit, having leaked The Witcher 3's next-gen expansion before its announcement, and it flagged its own caveat: the information rests on a single source.

Aggregation is not corroboration

The claim was picked up by AltChar, IBTimes UK and Vice, but three outlets repeating one podcast is still one source. There is no official spec sheet to check it against, so it can be neither confirmed nor contradicted by anything Rockstar has published.

Digital Foundry's skepticism

Digital Foundry's Alex Battaglia thinks a 60fps mode is unlikely at launch, reasoning that dropping resolution far enough to hit it would cost the game its visual identity; he floated a 40fps mode as an outside possibility for displays that support it. That is feasibility analysis, not a feature announcement. DF separately reads the trailer at roughly 1440p upscaled to 4K at 30fps; see graphics analysis and our Trailer 2 breakdown.

Until Rockstar speaks, the honest summary: 30fps is the only figure observed in official footage, the two-mode structure is a single-source rumor, and the Series S lock is part of the same unverified package.
