The most specific GTA 6 destruction-tech detail on record comes from a source that no longer exists: a former Rockstar graphics programmer's LinkedIn profile, which described leading a "next-generation procedural breakable glass system for vehicles and props" during a GTA 6 tenure of roughly February 2020 to April 2023. Dexerto and RockstarINTEL reported the find around March 23-24, 2026.

What procedural means

GTA 5 used pre-baked glass-break animations: authored shatter patterns replayed on demand. The leaked system reportedly generates shattered glass in real time with unique fracture patterns, so a windshield in a collision, a window in a shootout or a storefront pane in a chase would break differently every time instead of pulling from a small library of canned effects.

The deletion read as a signal

The developer removed the glass-system references within hours of the posts spreading, and Dexerto treated the quick deletion as a corroborating signal: harmless lines tend to stay put, while details touching unannounced work tend to vanish once they draw attention. That is interpretation, not proof. The leak was cross-reported by Dexerto, RockstarINTEL, GamesRadar and Sportskeeda, more coverage than most GTA 6 rumors get, and it is a primary self-disclosure rather than an anonymous tip.

The capture-tooling aside

The same profile reportedly mentioned building tools to capture in-game footage with extra rendering detail, which RockstarINTEL framed as a hint at how Rockstar produces its trailers, useful context when weighing how representative Trailer 2 footage is (our breakdown).

Fans pointed to a trailer wreck with glass scattered across the road as the system in action; that is unconfirmed fan interpretation. Bottom line: a credible, well-sourced leak about RAGE engine destruction tech that Rockstar has never announced.
