Vice City is the centerpiece city of Leonida and the most thoroughly documented part of the GTA 6 map. Rockstar's official site sums it up as "the glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city", and gives it more official screenshots (nine) than any other region. The city marks the series' modern-day return to a setting last visited in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City (2002).

Rockstar's own description names several distinct areas: Ocean Beach, Little Cuba, the Tisha-Wocka flea market, and VC Port, which the site calls "the cruise ship capital of the world". The site's wider body copy adds further named places, including Stockyard, Washington Beach, Shore Drive, and Southside Vice City.

Miami parallels (analysis)

The long-standing identification of Vice City with Miami is community and journalist analysis, not something Rockstar has published a key for, but the mapping is unusually precise this time. Miami New Times built an interactive map matching 20 real landmarks to in-game appearances, including the 500 Brickell Condos, the Loews Miami Beach Hotel on Collins Avenue, the Wynwood Walls street-art museum, and the Seven Mile Bridge out in the Keys. The in-game club NINE1NINE parodies the real 24-hour club E11EVEN, which embraced the nod by flying a banner over Miami Beach in December 2023 reading "WHEN NINE 1 NINE = E11EVEN". Series history

Rockstar leans openly on the 2002 game's legacy. The pre-order Vintage Vice City Pack includes a weapon pattern the publisher describes as inspired by original kingpin Tommy Vercetti's palm-tree shirt, Ultimate Edition revolvers are "sourced from the Vercetti Estate", and trailer footage shows Phil Cassidy's Ammu-Nation, a callback to a character from Vice City and GTA III. Community frame analysis also identifies a recreation of the Ocean View Hotel from the original game, though that reading is fan observation rather than an official confirmation.
