GTA 6's official footage has been combed frame by frame since December 2023, and the community has assembled a genuine catalogue of fan-spotted easter eggs. The finds below are visible in official material; what they mean is where fan theory takes over.

Confirmed on screen

  • $10 bills at roughly 2:07 of Trailer 2 carrying Thaddeus Waxman and Franklin Hardin, fictional presidents from Red Dead Redemption 2.
  • A weapon marked "D" in the font of RDR2's Dukes manufacturer.
  • A wall painting of an iguana in Tommy Vercetti's blue floral shirt, visible for about half a second.
  • An Ammu-Nation commercial starring a Phil Cassidy lookalike.
  • A V-Rock t-shirt, an NPC's "Vice City, baby!", and a trunk-weapon scene mirroring Tommy Vercetti and Lance Vance.

Found in the files

Dataminers extended the hunt beyond the trailers: an RDR2 boat texture naming a ship "The Leonida", a GTA Online mission chain internally coded "Sahara Surveillance", and the Kortz Center paintings fans read as GTA 6 clues.

The shared-universe caveat

Nearly every one of these finds feeds the same theory: that GTA and Red Dead occupy one canon universe. Rockstar has never officially declared a single continuous canon. Cross-game winks can be deliberate nods without confirming a timeline, and readings like "the mulleted man is Phil's son" or "Jason connects to Arthur Morgan" are fan reasoning layered on real footage. The honest split: the details are confirmed on screen or in files; the meanings are theories. One more caution: the wider pool of circulating "GTA 6 leaks" is full of AI-generated fakes, which is precisely why finds from official footage hold up while so much else does not.
