Mount Kalaga National Park is the wilderness region of Leonida, described on Rockstar's official site as "a national landmark up against the state's northern border" offering "prime hunting, fishing, and off-road trails". Sitting at the opposite end of the tone scale from the neon coast, it is the map's answer to the mountain country of past GTA games, and with six official screenshots it is the best-illustrated region on Rockstar's site after Vice City.
Backwoods strangeness
Rockstar's description makes clear the woods are not empty: "hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals" live out in the wild, signalling that Mount Kalaga carries the off-kilter rural culture GTA's remote areas are known for. Hunting and fishing both appear on the game's confirmed activity roster, aligning with the park's official billing. Community analysis frames the region as terrain the series has not offered since the Mount Chiliad area of GTA 5, and reads the national-park framing as a promise of organised outdoor activities alongside the more chaotic uses players inevitably find for mountainous ground.
The kalaga slug
A July 2026 audit of the official website recorded a quirk worth knowing for anyone linking to the region: although the screenshot set names it Mount Kalaga National Park, its route on Rockstar's site is simply kalaga, and the more obvious mount-kalaga URL returns a 404.
Georgia connections (fan analysis)
Fans have linked the canyon terrain shown in Trailer 2 to Georgia's real Providence Canyon, a comparison covered by TheGamer and others. Because the park sits against Leonida's northern border, that observation also feeds the unconfirmed Gloriana theory, which imagines a Georgia-parody second state beyond the state line after "Gloriana" license plates appeared in official footage.
