Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as a single-player game. Rockstar's official pre-order materials describe it as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet," and no online mode, date or roadmap has been announced alongside it. Reporting on the console PlayStation Store listing noted an "offline play only" label, and both the Standard and Ultimate editions list their bonuses as single-player content.

What precedent suggests

Rockstar has consistently added multiplayer after launch rather than alongside it. GTA Online went live on October 1, 2013, roughly two weeks after GTA 5. Red Dead Online followed Red Dead Redemption 2 by about a month in beta form and took around a year and a half to reach full release. Where multiplayer actually starts

With no official mode at launch, the first GTA 6 multiplayer is expected to arrive the way GTA 5's scene did: through community and roleplay servers, once a PC version and official tooling exist.
