GTA 6 PC Version

Rockstar has not announced a GTA 6 PC version. Based on GTA 5 and RDR2 precedent, analysts point to late 2027 or 2028, which remains informed speculation.

As of August 2026, there is no announced PC version of GTA 6. No version, no window, no system requirements. Every official touchpoint, from pre-order pages to press releases and screenshots, references PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. Some earlier aggregated coverage described a later PC release as "confirmed"; that overstated it, and the sourced position is that Rockstar has said nothing. Our PC release date explainer tracks this in full.

The precedent behind every prediction

What analysts lean on is Rockstar's history, which is analysis rather than announcement:

GameConsole launchPC releaseGap
GTA 5September 2013April 2015~18 months
Red Dead Redemption 2October 2018November 2019~13 months

Apply that 12-18 month pattern to a November 19, 2026 console launch and you land in late 2027 or 2028. That is informed speculation built on precedent; Rockstar can break its own habits whenever it chooses.

Why console-first

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has explained the approach directly: "Rockstar always starts on console because I think with regard to a release like that you're judged by serving the core."

What PC means for roleplay

The stakes are highest for the roleplay scene, because serious FiveM-style roleplay runs on PC. Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the team behind FiveM and RedM, in August 2023, and launched the paid Cfx Marketplace on January 12, 2026, so the modding groundwork is confirmed even though the platform is not. Any GTA 6 RP ecosystem realistically waits on the PC port, potentially a year or more beyond console launch. Talk of a first-party modding engine called "Project ROME" remains an unconfirmed rumor.

Until Rockstar speaks, plan around the console launch and treat every specific PC date you see as a guess.
