Rockstar revealed the official GTA 6 cover art on June 18, 2026 through its Newswire, in the same announcement that set pre-orders for June 25. No trailer accompanied it; the still image was the whole show. One later report dates the reveal teaser to June 20, a discrepancy worth noting, though the June 18 Newswire date anchors the earlier accounts.
The design leans on the series' hallmark nine-panel collage grid, with Lucia Caminos and Jason Duval anchoring the center. Around them the panels pack in a helicopter, a motorcycle popping a wheelie, an NPC draped in gold, a yellow supercar, an alligator, Boobie Ike, and a pastel Vice City skyline. The helicopter placement is the quiet signature: a small chopper tucked into the top-left corner continues a habit Rockstar has kept for 25 years, tracing back to GTA III.
Fans went further, and their catalogued readings remain observations rather than confirmed intent:
- The helicopter identified as a Sea Sparrow, the amphibious chopper from the original Vice City era.
- The yellow Pegassi sitting almost exactly where the Infernus sat on the 2002 Vice City box, continuing a Murcielago-to-Aventador design lineage.
- The cover woman's Vice City Manatees jersey, her can of Thaw, a "305" wrist tattoo for the Miami-Dade area code, and a second "Vice Baby" tattoo.
The reveal came with matching wallpapers and a refreshed logo, and a Cover Art Animation now sits among the official site's eleven videos. The same day, Rockstar quietly added the hidden Vice City flyover to the site.
