Blink and you miss it: around the 0:33 mark of Trailer 2, a wall painting shows an iguana wearing a blue floral shirt, the same style Tommy Vercetti wears in 2002's GTA Vice City. Mein-MMO pinned the timing and noted the painting appears for roughly half a second, nearly invisible against the darker shop background unless you pause the frame and brighten it. Game Rant also covered the find, which surfaced the way most do: thousands of fans combing the trailer frame by frame.

Fan reading, not Rockstar confirmation

Rockstar has not confirmed that the iguana painting is a deliberate Tommy Vercetti tribute. The connection is a fan interpretation, widely believed and very convincing, with the distinctive shirt, the modernised Vice City setting and the timing all lining up, but it is still a theory rather than a statement.

Why the homage is plausible

What sits right beside it is official: Rockstar's own Vintage Vice City Pack includes a tropical weapon pattern the studio itself describes as inspired by Tommy Vercetti's iconic palm-tree button-up, plus revolvers "sourced from the Vercetti Estate." A studio openly selling Vercetti nostalgia in its pre-order marketing is entirely capable of painting his shirt onto a lizard, which is why this particular fan reading carries more weight than most. It joins the Phil Cassidy lookalike and the rest of the easter egg catalogue as confirmed pixels with an unconfirmed meaning in Vice City.
