GTA 6 has a confirmed in-game social media system, shown directly in trailer footage. Trailer 2 displays a TikTok and Instagram-Reels-style feed surfacing real-time events from across Leonida, and NPCs are shown filming and livestreaming incidents as they happen — a world that documents itself, where player actions can become content inside the game's own ecosystem.

Confirmed building blocks

  • A short-video feed showing live events across Leonida.
  • NPCs as creators, filming and livestreaming incidents as they occur.
  • In-world sharing of events through an in-game platform, shown in Trailer 2.

The feed depends on the world's density: the trailers show hundreds of unique NPCs behaving organically, and Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick has emphasised that every building, street and neighbourhood was hand-built.

Leaks around the edges — labelled

Two further claims circulate, and neither is confirmed. First, an Amazon Brazil retail listing from late June 2026, first flagged by VGC and mirrored by the retailer KaBuM, described an integrated social network in the in-game phone — viral videos to watch, influencers to follow, world events surfacing in the feed. It is machine-translated retailer copy that Rockstar has not confirmed; treat it as a leak. Second, a deleted Reddit post attributed to someone said to be close to SAG-AFTRA claimed NPC voice-session labels including "NPC Social Media Response Positive/Negative", plus more than 35,000 additional NPC lines recorded by over 300 actors — hinting at a possible reputation or virality system. Rockstar has not responded, and all of it is unverified.

The clean split: the feed, NPC filming and in-world sharing are confirmed on screen; the phone-integrated network and any reputation mechanic are leaks. The system connects naturally to the reported NPC AI simulation and sits alongside the game's parody brands.
