GTA 6 Still Unrated 63 Days Out. Two Boards Only Look Like It Is

Grand Theft Auto VI ships on 19 November 2026, which is 63 days from today by this desk's own arithmetic. It has no rating from the ESRB, no rating from PEGI and no rating from the USK. Two of those three boards will return results if you search them for it. Every one of those results is a Vice City game. That is the whole trap, and it is why "the ESRB has seven GTA VI entries" is a sentence that is true and completely misleading at the same time. Why searching the ESRB for GTA 6 returns seven results CONFIRMED. A properly formed ESRB search for "Grand Theft Auto VI", fetched at 2026-09-17T03:09:56Z, HTTP 200, 22,175 bytes, returns a total of 7, all seven returned in the response. All seven are Vice City titles, matched because the letters VI are a prefix of the word Vice. The certificate numbers: 38162, Vice City Definitive Edition 34292, Vice City 32041, Vice City on PlayStation 3 32717, 22427 and 22124, Vice City Stories 8230, Vice City Not one of them is Grand Theft Auto VI. The USK does exactly the same thing. Its search for "Grand Theft Auto VI", HTTP 200, 150,887 bytes, fetched at 2026-09-17T03:07:54Z, reports verbatim "17 titles and 0 articles found", and page one is five entries all reading "Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, The Definitive Edition" across PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and Xbox One, all published by Take Two Interactive Software UK Ltd, the first classified on 07.09.2021 under USK number 50454/21. A researcher then searched the entire rendered USK results page for the literal string "Grand Theft Auto VI". It appears exactly twice, and both are the search term echoed back at you, once in the page title and once in the results heading. Zero occurrences as a catalogued title. PEGI is the clean zero, and it says so in words CONFIRMED. PEGI's search for "Grand Theft Auto VI", HTTP 200, 222,203 bytes, fetched at 2026-09-17T03:07:54Z, prints verbatim "Found 0 results from your query" and "No results found", followed by the standard disclaimer, verbatim: The title of the game you were searching for cannot be found in this database. This may mean it was not classified by PEGI, but it may also mean it was published on a platform that is not included in this database. PEGI's own "Most Searched Games" block on the same page lists Fortnite Battle Royale, Fortnite, Forza Horizon 6, Grand Theft Auto V, Minecraft, Pokemon Pokopia and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Grand Theft Auto VI is not among them. The controls, which are the only reason any of the zeros mean anything CONFIRMED. Every board was proved with a control query in the same fetch batch. A search engine that returns nothing might be broken. A search engine that returns nothing for one title and plenty for its predecessor is telling you something. ESRB certificate 40987 is Red Dead Redemption on PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox Series, publisher Rockstar Games, rated M. ESRB certificate 38445 is Grand Theft Auto V on Windows PC, PS5 and Xbox Series, same publisher, same rating. The ESRB database reported a total size of 34,180 titles. PEGI's first control result is Grand Theft Auto V, publisher string verbatim "Take2 Interactive Software Europe ltd", PEGI 18, with release dates of 15/03/2022 on Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. USK's first control result is Grand Theft Auto V on PlayStation 5, publisher "Take-Two Interactive GmbH", age rating verbatim "keine Jugendfreigabe gemass Paragraph 14 JuSchG", classified 01.02.2022, USK number 51174/22. The method discovery, and anyone checking ratings should read this bit CONFIRMED, and it invalidates a lot of casual checking. The ESRB search endpoint that everybody hits is POST /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php with action=search_rating and a flat searchKeyword parameter. It is keyword-blind. At 2026-09-17T03:08:30Z a researcher sent it three completely different queries: "Grand Theft Auto VI", "Grand Theft Auto V" and "Red Dead Redemption". All three returned HTTP 200. All three returned byte-identical responses at 40,469 bytes, listing the same ten most recently rated games, among them Avatar Legends, Romancing SaGa 3 and Back to the Dawn, with a reported total of 34,180 and found of 10 every time. The keyword was ignored entirely. A zero from that endpoint proves nothing whatsoever. What it gives you is evidence of a malformed request, and nothing about whether a rating exists. The working form was found by reading ESRB's own front-end JavaScript, assets/js/app.js, HTTP 200 at 295,875 bytes. The parameters have to be nested: action=search_rating&args[searchKeyword]=...&args[searchType]=All&args[pg]=1. Every ESRB figure in this article was produced with that form, and the controls above prove it works. Why this article covers three boards and not six The scope is deliberate and the reason is a set of failures, printed here in full. Three further boards were attempted on 17 September and all three refused. No control query could be run against any of them, because the search surfaces themselves failed before a control was possible. GRAC, Korea. The root returned a connection reset by peer, curl error 35, 0 bytes, at 2026-09-17T03:10:45Z. The English game search redirected both the target query and the control query to an error page, 1,624 bytes each, at 03:11:42Z. ClassInd, Brazil. The classification system returned a failed CONNECT tunnel, HTTP 502, 0 bytes, at 03:10:45Z. OFNAA, Hong Kong. The English index returned HTTP 404 at 2,512 bytes, and the site root returns only a 426 byte meta-refresh stub. A zero from an unreachable board records a network error and nothing else. The claim in this article is scoped to ESRB, PEGI and USK, which are the three that were proved with working controls. What is new in this run is threefold: the countdown, now 63 days by our own arithmetic; the certificate numbers behind all seven ESRB Vice City hits and the publisher and classification detail behind the USK control; and the discovery that the commonly used ESRB endpoint is keyword-blind, which means some share of the "we checked and found nothing" claims circulating about this game were produced by a request that never carried the search term at all. CONFIRMED: USK returns "17 titles and 0 articles found" and the literal string "Grand Theft Auto VI" appears on that page only as the echoed search term. CONFIRMED: PEGI returns "Found 0 results from your query" with its standard disclaimer, against a control of "Found 6 results" for Grand Theft Auto V. CONFIRMED: every board was proved with a control in the same fetch batch, at ESRB 10, 10 and 42, USK 90 and PEGI 6. CONFIRMED as a method finding: the ESRB admin-ajax endpoint ignores the keyword and returns byte-identical 40,469 byte responses to different queries. The nested args form is required. Explicitly not claimed: that Grand Theft Auto VI is unrated worldwide. Three boards were reachable and were checked with controls. Korea, Brazil and Hong Kong were not reachable and no control exists for any of them, so this article says nothing about them.
