GTA 6 Ultimate Edition Upgrade: $20 on Xbox, No Price on PS5
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news8 min read
WHAT DOES THE GTA 6 ULTIMATE EDITION UPGRADE COST? ON XBOX, $20.00. ON PLAYSTATION, NOTHING IS ON THE PRICE LINE AT ALL. Product 9PN4LLBR8RCH, ProductKind Durable, read from displaycatalog.mp.microsoft.com at HTTP 200 at 2026-10-23T03:09:39Z and again at 03:14:12Z with identical results: priced SKU 0017, availability 9QD2DTKJC8WT, ListPrice AND MSRP 20.0 USD, availability LastModifiedDate 2026-10-16T17:11:16.9298905Z, OriginalReleaseDate 2026-11-19T05:00:00.0000000Z, InAppOfferToken "Special Edition Content". The 0010 SKU's four availabilities B13VX4WBT50K, 9NGT6349DFL7, 9XQG9880GX4P and 9S0H41W11MX6 all read 0.0 USD AND ARE ENTITLEMENT STUBS RATHER THAN PRICES, excluded from every pricing claim here. THE PUBLIC STOREFRONT CONFIRMS THE CATALOGUE INDEPENDENTLY at HTTP 200 and 470,470 bytes at 03:13:52Z, carrying "listPrice":20, "listPrice":79.99 and "listPrice":99.99 with matching msrp values and the literal rendered strings $20.00 twice, $79.99 three times and $99.99 twice. THE PLAYSTATION RECORD, at HTTP 200 and 327,576 bytes at 03:08:53Z: storeDisplayClassification ADD_ON_PACK, platforms ["PS5"], releaseDate 2026-11-19T05:00:00Z, basePrice NULL, discountedPrice NULL, ZERO DOLLAR AMOUNTS ANYWHERE IN THE PAGE BODY, "Not available" FOUR TIMES, and zero occurrences of Pre-order, Pre-Order, Add to Cart or Unavailable. On the standard edition page at HTTP 200 and 467,012 bytes at 03:07:54Z the same SKU appears in the carousel with basePrice "Unavailable". ROCKSTAR'S OWN COPY SAYS BOTH STORES WORK, carrying verbatim "Purchased the game? Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition on Microsoft Store at any time." AND the identical sentence naming PlayStation Store, read at HTTP 200 and 1,081,913 bytes at 03:11:27Z on a page that shows $79.99 ONCE and no other GTA VI digital price. THE LAUNCH INSTANT IS PINNED AT 2026-11-19T05:00:00Z IN TWO INDEPENDENT CATALOGUES, WHICH IS MIDNIGHT EASTERN: Microsoft gives that OriginalReleaseDate on all three products with pre-order windows of 2026-06-25T04:00:00Z to 2026-11-19T04:59:59Z on availability 9WRVS0VXP3LR at 79.99 and 9V9H4F1LLG2P at 99.99, and PlayStation gives releaseDate 2026-11-19T05:00:00Z on all three pages at 467,012, 496,683 and 327,576 bytes, all listing platforms PS5 only and serviceBranding NONE, with a fourth identifier for the Ultimate Edition at concept id 10000730, HTTP 200 and 502,915 bytes. ROCKSTAR'S MARKETING COPY CONTRADICTS ITS OWN AVAILABILITY WINDOW INSIDE THE SAME RECORD SET: the base game description tells buyers to purchase PRIOR TO 19 NOVEMBER 2026 23:59:59 for the Vintage Vice City Pack and a month of GTA+, while the availability windows expire 2026-11-19T04:59:59Z, ABOUT NINETEEN HOURS EARLIER, and neither is presented here as the operative deadline. The GTA+ month must be redeemed WITHIN 180 DAYS, is unavailable to child accounts with restrictions on age restricted content, and is limited to ONE REDEMPTION PER PLATFORM ACCOUNT. WHAT THE $20 UNLOCKS, in Rockstar's own words: a '95 Grotti Cheetah with a retro-futuristic livery, his and hers Hawk and Little Morgan revolvers described as sourced from the Vercetti Estate, Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17 pistols, Vice City Style outfits and tattoos, a Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak, a Ganado retro build, a Shitzu Squalo with an explosives laden weapons crate, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, Goodtime Gear apparel, a raidable PTT Youngin$ compound, a classic car collection, and five locations open only with the Ultimate Edition: Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo with over 50 tattoos designed by the collective FAILE, and One-Eyed Willie's. LIMITS: THIS DESK CANNOT DATE THE PLAYSTATION GAP, because no prior snapshot exists and the PlayStation Store exposes no LastModifiedDate equivalent, and the researcher who read it rates that question LOW; a null price field is the state of a record at one instant and not a statement by Sony or Rockstar; PlayStation's GraphQL API returned HTTP 400 because it requires a signed persisted query hash, so everything came from server rendered pages; the itemised contents are current text rather than new text, sitting inside records re-ingested hours earlier with no prior snapshot to compare. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot by name and every fetch used a standard desktop browser user agent against a specific public URL rather than crawling.
What does the Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition upgrade cost? On Xbox the answer is $20.00 and the record is live and priced. On PlayStation the same add-on exists with no price at all, a null base price and the words "Not available" four times on the page. Rockstar's own store meanwhile tells buyers in two parallel sentences that they can upgrade on either platform at any time.
Xbox: $20.00, and the storefront agrees with the catalogue
Product 9PN4LLBR8RCH, titled "Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade", ProductKind Durable, read from displaycatalog.mp.microsoft.com at HTTP 200 on 2026-10-23T03:09:39Z and again at 03:14:12Z, identical both times.

The record also carries a 0010 SKU whose four availabilities, B13VX4WBT50K, 9NGT6349DFL7, 9XQG9880GX4P and 9S0H41W11MX6, all read 0.0 USD. Those are entitlement stubs and not prices, and this desk has a standing rule to exclude them from every pricing claim.
The public Xbox storefront page confirms the catalogue independently. xbox.com/en-US/games/store/grand-theft-auto-vi/9P3H4968GRSM/0017/9PWFKCT9JGKL, HTTP 200 and 470,470 bytes, read 2026-10-23T03:13:52Z, carries "listPrice":20, "listPrice":79.99 and "listPrice":99.99 with matching "msrp" values, plus the literal rendered strings $20.00 twice, $79.99 three times and $99.99 twice.
PlayStation: the same add-on, with nothing on the price line
store.playstation.com/en-us/product/EP1004-PPSA01547_00-ULTEDTIONUPGRADE, HTTP 200 and 327,576 bytes, read 2026-10-23T03:08:53Z. Page title "Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition Upgrade".

On the standard edition's PlayStation page, EP1004-PPSA01547_00-GTAVISTANDARD001 at HTTP 200 and 467,012 bytes read 03:07:54Z, the same upgrade SKU appears in the carousel with "basePrice":"Unavailable". So the add-on is present, discoverable and unbuyable, with a release date and a platform and nothing in the price field.
Rockstar's own copy says both stores work
store.rockstargames.com/game/buy-gta-vi, HTTP 200 and 1,081,913 bytes, read 2026-10-23T03:11:27Z, carries both of these strings verbatim:
"Purchased the game? Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition on Microsoft Store at any time."
"Purchased the game? Upgrade to the Ultimate Edition on PlayStation Store at any time."
The same page shows $79.99 once and no other Grand Theft Auto VI digital price, using the phrases "Digital Standard Edition" and "Grand Theft Auto VI Ultimate Edition".

What the $20 actually unlocks, in Rockstar's own words
The upgrade record itemises its contents, and the list is worth printing because it is the only place Rockstar sets out exactly what the money buys. Verbatim headings include a '95 Grotti Cheetah with a retro-futuristic livery, his and hers Hawk & Little Morgan revolvers described as sourced from the Vercetti Estate, personalised weapon variants comprising Jason's Girardi ES9 and Lucia's Klose K17 pistols, Vice City Style outfits, hairstyles and tattoos, Jason's safehouse vehicles including an army fatigue tinged Dinka Enduro motorcycle and a Crest Kayak, a Ganado retro build, a Shitzu Squalo watercraft with an explosives laden weapons crate, a '67 Vapid Dominator Buggy with a garage at the Paradise Garage in Watson Bay, Goodtime Gear apparel, a raidable PTT Youngin$ compound, and a classic car collection described as a commission from a collector and local fixer named Wyman.
It also names five locations described as special destinations only open for business with the Ultimate Edition: Rideout Customs, Sara's Unisex Salon, Stock 305, Electric Fang Tattoo, which the copy says carries over 50 signature tattoos designed by the artist collective FAILE, and One-Eyed Willie's.
Separately, the Vintage Vice City Pack record itemises a '55 Vapid Stanier sedan, the Shore Court garage near Ocean Beach with a weapon locker and a place to fence stolen goods, a linen suit in vintage pastel for Jason, a red sequin mini dress and curls for Lucia, and a weapon pattern the copy says is inspired by Tommy Vercetti's palm tree button-up. Its AlternateIds carry the InAppOfferToken "Day One Content".
The launch instant is pinned at 05:00:00Z in two independent catalogues
Both platform catalogues give the same release instant, and Microsoft's pre-order windows are configured to expire one second before it.

05:00:00Z is midnight Eastern. That is a catalogue level confirmation of a midnight Eastern unlock rather than a marketing date, and two independent catalogues agree on it to the second. The PlayStation pages were read at HTTP 200 and 467,012, 496,683 and 327,576 bytes between 03:07:54Z and 03:08:53Z, all carrying "platforms":["PS5"] and "serviceBranding":["NONE"]. A fourth PlayStation identifier exists for the Ultimate Edition, concept id 10000730, HTTP 200 at 502,915 bytes read 03:08:54Z.
Rockstar's own marketing copy contradicts its own availability window
Inside the same Microsoft record set, the base game component's description tells buyers to purchase prior to 19 November 2026 23:59:59 to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack and a month of GTA+. The availability windows on both priced storefront products expire at 2026-11-19T04:59:59Z. Those two instants are about nineteen hours apart, and both come from Rockstar's own configuration of the same catalogue entry. This desk does not know which one governs a purchase made between them, and neither figure is presented as the operative deadline.
The GTA+ month itself carries its own terms in the same copy: redeem within 180 days of placing the pre-order, unavailable to child accounts with restrictions on age restricted content, and limited to one redemption per Platform Account.
Limits
This desk cannot date the PlayStation gap. There is no prior snapshot of the PlayStation upgrade record from before the window, and the PlayStation Store exposes no LastModifiedDate equivalent, so whether the missing price is new, longstanding or temporary is unknown. The researcher who read it rates that question LOW in those words.
A null price field is not a statement by Sony or Rockstar. It is the state of a catalogue record at one instant. No conclusion is drawn about whether the upgrade will be purchasable on PlayStation at launch.
PlayStation's GraphQL API was not usable. It returned HTTP 400 with the message that the query is not whitelisted, because it requires a signed persisted query hash. Everything above came from the server rendered store pages, which carry price and release data inline.
The itemised contents lists are current text, not new text. Both sit inside records that were re-ingested in the early hours of 23 October, and no prior snapshot exists to prove any line of them changed. That re-ingestion is covered on its own terms elsewhere in the news index.
No retailer was reached. Eleven named retail chains produced no product data at all this cycle, so there is no physical edition price, bundle or midnight launch information here.
Retrieval method, disclosed. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot by name. Every fetch above used a standard desktop browser user agent against a specific public URL rather than crawling. For the communities organising around launch see the server list.
