Correction: Rockstar Kept Posting, GTA 6 Went Quiet for 10.5 Days
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news9 min read
THIS CORRECTS A MEASUREMENT THIS DESK PUBLISHED. ROCKSTAR WAS NEVER SILENT FOR EIGHT DAYS. Batch 65 ran rockstar-eight-days-silent-576-assets-one-last-modified-r-gta6-five-day-low. The underlying observation, that no GTA VI item had appeared since 15 October, was sound; THE HEADLINE MEASURE ATTRIBUTED TO THE COMPANY A SILENCE THAT BELONGED TO ONE GAME. The syndication profile timeline was read at HTTP 200, 109,397 bytes transferred and 109,291 characters decoded, at 2026-10-26T03:13:59Z, yielding 21 distinct posts. @RockstarGames POSTED ON 22, 23 AND 24 OCTOBER: id 2113993918308110419 at 2026-10-24T14:00:00Z on GTA Online Short Trips with 6,457 favourites, 352 retweets and 453 replies; id 2113626865684353138 at 2026-10-23T13:41:28Z on GTA Online Halloween community missions with 5,086, 311 and 483; and id 2113269141578588528 at 2026-10-22T14:00:00Z on GTA Online Survival rewards with 6,664, 340 and 1,011. A Red Dead Online post sits at 2026-10-20T14:00:00Z. THREE MEASURES, ALL TO THE FETCH INSTANT: 10.496 DAYS, which is 251.904 hours, since an ORIGINAL GTA 6 POST, id 2110752492770173368 at 2026-10-15T15:19:44Z reading "Stay tuned for more information on Justice's official score album."; 6.4996 DAYS, which is 155.991 hours, since ANY GTA 6 ITEM, the retweet at id 2112200724935569824 of a Goodyear blimp post at 2026-10-19T15:14:30Z; and 37.233 HOURS, which is 1.5514 days, since ANY POST AT ALL. THE PHRASE THIS DESK SHOULD USE IS "DAYS SINCE AN ORIGINAL GTA 6 POST" AND THE FIGURE IS 10.496. For scale, the Launch Trailer post at id 2110717537964953810 carries 461,086 favourites, 65,196 retweets and 8,982 replies, which is 13.54 TIMES the favourites of the next largest post in the sample. TWO FURTHER SURFACES AGREE. ROCKSTAR'S LIVE NEWSWIRE API WAS LOCATED THIS CYCLE: graph.rockstargames.com answers a GraphQL query shaped posts(locale, limit) returning results with id, title, url and created, and at HTTP 200 and 1,861 bytes at 2026-10-26T03:07:52Z the newest English post is id 17914094885213, "Watch the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer", created 10/15/26, 1:00 PM. THIRTEEN LOCALE QUERIES, ALL HTTP 200 AND RANGING 473 TO 742 BYTES, ALL RETURN THE SAME TOP ID AND THE SAME SECOND ID. rockstargames.com/VI came back at HTTP 200 and 1,205,772 BYTES with MD5 8e42d9b809317caf0ebcb11048ff388a, BYTE FOR BYTE IDENTICAL TO THE 2026-10-23 ANCHOR, and its Newswire module still renders three cards with the newest dated October 15, 2026. AND 399 OF 399 STATIC ASSETS behind the GTA VI site returned HTTP 200 on a HEAD sweep and carried EXACTLY ONE Last-Modified value, Thu, 15 Oct 2026 15:56:53 GMT, with zero assets carrying any other. THE ASSET COUNT MOVED FROM 576 TO 399 BECAUSE THE TWO SWEEPS HARVESTED FROM DIFFERENT PAGE SETS AND NO ASSET WAS REMOVED: a figure of the form "399 of 576" would be meaningless and is not published. THE TIMEZONE AMBIGUITY IS PRINTED RATHER THAN RESOLVED: the API renders created as a locale-formatted naive datetime and read 13:00 in nine locales alike, so if that 1:00 PM is US Eastern the silence is 10 DAYS 10 HOURS 08 MINUTES and if it is UTC it is 10 DAYS 14 HOURS 08 MINUTES. The asset silence is independent of that because the header carries GMT explicitly: 10 DAYS 11 HOURS 19 MINUTES. NOTHING IS QUEUED ON THE VIDEO SIDE EITHER: the channel Videos listing holds nothing newer than the Launch Trailer, the Streams tab nothing newer than a six year old broadcast, and the 1,322,547 byte channel home browse contains ZERO occurrences of upcomingEventData, startTime, SCHEDULED, LIVE_STREAM_OFFLINE or the word Premieres. NO NEW UPLOAD AND NO SCHEDULED PREMIERE AS OF 2026-10-26T03:18Z. WHAT FILLED THE SILENCE WAS USER PHOTOGRAPHS OF REAL WORLD ADVERTISING, every one attributed and NONE VERIFIED BY THIS DESK WITH ANY ADVERTISER, VENUE OR BROADCASTER: post 1xdja38 at 2026-10-23T16:46:10Z by RogerRoger63358, score 12,334; post 1xdxo9l at 2026-10-24T03:04:38Z by itsOnlyMarvin, score 6,777; post 1xd4u05 on streetlight banners, score 1,190; posts 1xfcojy at 2026-10-25T20:19:22Z by mellas31, score 1,174, and 1xfcwg7 nine minutes later, score 27, TWO SEPARATE ACCOUNTS ON THE SAME ADVERTISING BOARD; plus posts 1xdf0nj and 1xdq7ax on a basketball concourse promotion and a New York bus. The only item with a first-party trace is the blimp, which Rockstar's own account retweeted on 19 October. A RUMOUR, LABELLED AS A RUMOUR: at 2026-10-23T23:49:00Z, inside the window, Notebookcheck published a claim, byline Adam Corsetti, that the GTA VI review embargo lifts 18 November with some outlets held to launch day, SOURCED TO A SINGLE RESETERA POSTER NAMED BLACKBATE posting on 23 October. The article's own words are to "take the GTA 6 review embargo details with a grain of salt", and ITS THREE STATED CLOCK TIMES CONTRADICT EACH OTHER, describing one instant as around 12:01 to 1:01 PM CET, as 6:01 PM CET and as 6:01 CET equating to 12:01 AM Eastern on 19 November. THIS DESK HAS NOT VERIFIED THE UNDERLYING CLAIM, ROCKSTAR HAS ANNOUNCED NOTHING, AND NO TIME FROM THAT ARTICLE IS ADOPTED HERE. It is one outlet carrying one forum claim. LIMITS: THE TIMELINE CANNOT BE ENUMERATED and this piece does not assert nothing else was posted, the syndication endpoint returning 21 posts spanning 8 to 24 October and not being guaranteed exhaustive, while the x.com profile served a 149,586 byte JavaScript shell and login wall and Instagram returned HTTP 302 at 0 bytes; the classification of each post as GTA Online or GTA 6 was a researcher's, which is why the text is quoted; engagement counts are readings at one instant; a byte-identical page is strong evidence and not a guarantee, because /VI is served with an incremental static regeneration header and a 300 second stale time; the Newswire field names were found by probing error classes because introspection is blocked at a 191 byte refusal, and no field exposing an ISO timestamp was found, which is exactly why the timezone ambiguity cannot be closed; Rockstar's Newswire, GTA+ and legal pages serve 3 to 4 KB micro-frontend shells whose Last-Modified headers are far-future sentinels dated 2045. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot by name and was re-read at HTTP 200 and 311 bytes with an unchanged 2 October Last-Modified; every fetch used a standard desktop browser user agent against a specific public URL rather than crawling, and the only enumeration was a HEAD sweep of asset URLs already named inside pages already fetched.
This article corrects a measurement this desk published. Rockstar was never silent for eight days. The @RockstarGames account posted on 22, 23 and 24 October, and every one of those posts was a GTA Online or Red Dead Online weekly update. The company kept publishing. What went quiet was Grand Theft Auto VI, and the correct figure is about 10.5 days, measured three ways and printed three ways.
What this desk published, and what the account actually shows
Batch 65 ran the story under the slug rockstar-eight-days-silent-576-assets-one-last-modified-r-gta6-five-day-low. The underlying observation, that no Grand Theft Auto VI item had appeared since 15 October, was sound. The headline measure was wrong, because it attributed to the company a silence that belonged to one game.
Researcher 3 read the syndication profile timeline at HTTP 200, 109,397 bytes transferred and 109,291 characters decoded, at 2026-10-26T03:13:59Z, and parsed 21 distinct posts. Every row is an observation and every post id and instant comes from the payload itself.

The last original Grand Theft Auto VI post reads, in full: "Stay tuned for more information on Justice's official score album." The last Grand Theft Auto VI item of any kind is the retweet above, amplifying a post from the Goodyear blimp account that carried a pin, the words Vice City, Leonida, USA, and three emoji this desk is not reproducing.
For scale, the Launch Trailer post carries 13.54 times the favourites of the next largest post in the same sample, which took 34,056. That ratio is arithmetic.
Official Rockstar artwork, included to illustrate the piece. It does not itself evidence any of the figures discussed here.
Three measures, all to the same instant
All three are arithmetic from the instants above to the fetch instant of 2026-10-26T03:13:59Z.

The phrase this desk should use from now on is "days since an original GTA 6 post", and the figure is 10.496. The company has not stopped publishing for more than a day and a half at any point in the window.
Two further surfaces agree, including Rockstar's live Newswire API
Researcher 1 confirmed the same silence from two independent directions and located Rockstar's Newswire data endpoint in the process, which is a reusable asset for this desk.
The live Newswire GraphQL endpoint. graph.rockstargames.com answers a query shaped {posts(locale:"<loc>",limit:N){results{id title url created}}}. Read at HTTP 200 and 1,861 bytes at 2026-10-26T03:07:52Z, the newest English post is id 17914094885213, titled "Watch the Grand Theft Auto VI Launch Trailer", with a rendered created of 10/15/26, 1:00 PM. Thirteen separate locale queries, all HTTP 200, between 03:08:03Z and 03:08:09Z and ranging from 473 to 742 bytes, all return the same top id and the same second id. The titles are translated; the publication order is not.
The rendered page. rockstargames.com/VI came back at HTTP 200 and 1,205,772 bytes with MD5 8e42d9b809317caf0ebcb11048ff388a at 2026-10-26T03:03:41Z. Both figures are byte for byte identical to the 2026-10-23 anchor. The page's own Newswire module still renders exactly three cards, the newest dated October 15, 2026.
The static assets. 399 of 399 asset URLs behind the Grand Theft Auto VI site returned HTTP 200 on a HEAD sweep between 03:14:32Z and 03:15:54Z, and 399 of 399 carried exactly one Last-Modified value: Thu, 15 Oct 2026 15:56:53 GMT. Zero assets carried any other value.
The asset count moved from 576 in the previous cycle to 399 in this one, and no asset was removed. The two sweeps harvested from different page sets, 576 across one extraction and 399 across /VI and four subpages. The single shared Last-Modified value is the finding; the denominators are not comparable and a figure of the form "399 of 576" would be meaningless.
The silence, with the timezone ambiguity printed rather than resolved
The Newswire API renders created as a locale-formatted naive datetime with no timezone attached, and it read 13:00 in nine different locales alike, so the API is not converting anything.
If that 1:00 PM is United States Eastern, the post instant is 2026-10-15T17:00:00Z and the silence to the API read is 10 days 10 hours 08 minutes.
If it is UTC, the silence is 10 days 14 hours 08 minutes.
Both are printed because the API supplies no basis for choosing between them. The honest published figure is about ten and a half days.
The asset silence is independent of that ambiguity, because the Last-Modified header carries GMT explicitly: 10 days 11 hours 19 minutes from 2026-10-15T15:56:53Z to the end of the sweep.
Nothing is queued on the video side either. Rockstar's channel Videos listing puts the Launch Trailer at the top with a relative age of ten days and holds nothing newer, the Streams tab holds nothing newer than a six year old broadcast, and the channel home browse response, at 1,322,547 bytes, contains zero occurrences of upcomingEventData, startTime, SCHEDULED, LIVE_STREAM_OFFLINE or the word Premieres. No new upload and no scheduled premiere as of 2026-10-26T03:18Z.
What filled the silence: user photographs, and one forum claim an outlet printed
While Rockstar's own channels said nothing about Grand Theft Auto VI, r/GTA6 spent the window looking at advertising in physical places. Every one of these is a photograph or video posted by a named account and this desk has verified no placement with any advertiser, venue or broadcaster.
Post 1xdja38, 2026-10-23T16:46:10Z, author RogerRoger63358, score 12,334 with 248 comments, titled "Nice touch by Rockstar", linking a video this desk did not open.
Post 1xdxo9l, 2026-10-24T03:04:38Z, author itsOnlyMarvin, score 6,777, linking an image this desk did not open.
Post 1xd4u05, 2026-10-23T04:57Z, score 1,190, describing rebranded streetlight banners on a boulevard.
Post 1xfcojy, 2026-10-25T20:19:22Z, author mellas31, score 1,174, captioned as an advertising board at a football match, and a second independent sighting of the same board at post 1xfcwg7, 20:28Z, score 27. Two separate accounts, nine minutes apart.
Post 1xdf0nj, 2026-10-23T14:06Z, score 794, quoting a basketball team's own concourse food promotion, and post 1xdq7ax, 21:11Z, score 478, describing one side of a New York bus.
The one thing in this cluster with a first-party trace is the blimp. Rockstar's own account retweeted it on 19 October, which is Rockstar amplifying a physical-world placement, and it is the same pattern the subreddit is reporting from the ground.
A rumour, labelled as a rumour. On 2026-10-23T23:49:00Z, inside the research window, Notebookcheck published a claim, byline Adam Corsetti, that the Grand Theft Auto VI review embargo lifts on 18 November with some outlets held to launch day. Its source is named as a single ResetEra poster, BlackBate, posting on 23 October. The article's own words are that readers should "take the GTA 6 review embargo details with a grain of salt", and its three stated clock times contradict each other, describing one instant as around 12:01 to 1:01 PM Central European Time, as 6:01 PM Central European Time, and as 6:01 Central European Time equating to 12:01 AM Eastern on 19 November. Those cannot all be the same moment. This desk has not verified the underlying claim, Rockstar has announced nothing, and no time from that article is adopted here as the embargo time. It is one outlet carrying one forum claim and nothing more.
Limits
The timeline cannot be enumerated and this piece does not assert that nothing else was posted. The syndication endpoint returned 21 posts spanning 8 to 24 October and is not guaranteed exhaustive, so a gap in that sample is not proof of a gap on the account. The x.com profile itself served a 149,586 byte JavaScript shell and login wall, and the Instagram account returned HTTP 302 at 0 bytes.
The classification of each post as GTA Online or Grand Theft Auto VI was made by a researcher from the visible text, which is why the post text is quoted above rather than only the label.
Engagement counts are readings at one instant and are not records. Every favourite, retweet and reply figure above was true at 2026-10-26T03:13:59Z.
A byte-identical page is strong evidence and not a guarantee. rockstargames.com/VI is served with an incremental static regeneration header and a 300 second stale time, so an edit made and reverted between the two reads would not show.
The Newswire GraphQL field names were discovered by probing error classes, because introspection is blocked. The endpoint answered the __schema query with a 191 byte refusal. The created and url fields return real data and no field exposing an ISO timestamp was found, which is the whole reason the timezone ambiguity above cannot be closed.
Rockstar's Newswire, GTA+ and legal pages could not be read as documents. Each serves a 3 to 4 KB micro-frontend shell whose Last-Modified header reads as a far-future sentinel dated 2045, which is worthless for dating anything.
Retrieval method, disclosed. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot by name, and it was read again this cycle at HTTP 200 and 311 bytes with an unchanged 2 October Last-Modified. Every fetch above used a standard desktop browser user agent against a specific public URL rather than crawling, and the only enumeration was a HEAD sweep of asset URLs already named inside pages already fetched. The money and the crowd are covered separately in the news index, and the server list carries the communities organising around launch.
