Rockstar Leeds and Rockstar Lincoln Are Gone From the UK Register

Two Rockstar companies stopped existing on the UK register on 24 March 2026. A third filed audited accounts in July showing nil turnover, zero employees and a 1,925,000 pound dividend paid upstream. And no company called Rockstar North has been on the register under that name since 22 December 2021. Before any of the detail: none of this is evidence about Grand Theft Auto VI's development, its staffing or the health of any studio. Every item below is a fact about a legal entity. Dormant corporate shells get struck off as routine housekeeping, and the accounts described here belong to a company that its own strategic report says stopped trading in January 2021. Anyone reading a studio closure into these filings is reading something that is not there. That warning is not a formality; it is the single most important sentence in this article. What happened to Rockstar Lincoln and Rockstar Leeds? CONFIRMED, from the primary UK registry. Both were dissolved on the same day by voluntary strike-off. Rockstar Lincoln's SIC code is 62090, other information technology service activities. Rockstar Leeds' is 58290, other software publishing, and the register records its previous name as Mobius Entertainment Limited, held from 15 April 1998 to 8 April 2004. The filing histories, HTTP 200 at 63,737 and 63,919 bytes at 03:18:13Z, show an identical four-item trail on each company: 29 December 2025, DS01. Application to strike the company off the register, one page. 6 January 2026, GAZ1(A). First Gazette notice for voluntary strike-off, one page. 24 March 2026, GAZ2(A). Final Gazette, dissolved via voluntary strike-off, one page. Plus, on Rockstar Lincoln, a 2 October 2025 PSC05, a change of details for Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. as a person with significant control. Both companies had been filing dormant accounts. Rockstar Lincoln's last accounts, filed 24 December 2024, are dormant company accounts made up to 31 March 2024, one page. Rockstar Leeds filed dormant accounts to the same date on 27 December 2024. LIMITS. A voluntary strike-off is a tidy-up of a non-trading entity and it is not an insolvency. Nothing in either filing history shows trading activity ending in 2026, because on the register's own evidence neither company was trading. Nobody here opened the DS01 or either Gazette PDF; the dates and form types above come from the register's own filing history index. Nobody here established who signed the DS01s. What do Rockstar Dundee's own accounts say? CONFIRMED, from the company's own audited, signed iXBRL accounts. Rockstar Dundee Limited, company number 06574738, is Active, incorporated 23 April 2008, registered at 7 Savoy Court, London WC2R 0EX, SIC 82990. Its previous name on the register is Ruffian Games Limited, held from 23 April 2008 to 6 October 2020. Full accounts for the year to 31 March 2026 were filed on 27 July 2026, 18 pages. The directors' report states: Ordinary dividends were paid amounting to 1,925,000 pounds. The directors do not recommend payment of a further dividend. The accounts are prepared on an unusual basis, and the document says so itself: The financial statements have been prepared on a basis other than going concern. The auditor carries an emphasis of matter on the same point. The auditor is Henderson Loggie LLP, The Stamp Office, Level 5, 10-14 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh EH1 3EG. The audit report is dated 21 July 2026 and the strategic report was signed by Daniel P Emerson on 16 July 2026. The directors named are Daniel P Emerson and Rowan MS Hajaj; Andrew Wood also held office during the year, and a TM01 filed on 12 November 2025 records the termination of his appointment as a director on 11 November 2025. The company secretary is Thorntons Law LLP. Why the zero is not a headline about Scotland The strategic report explains the whole shape of those numbers, in the company's own words: On October 1, 2020, Take-Two interactive Software, Inc. acquired Ruffian Games Limited, which subsequently changed its name to Rockstar Dundee Limited. In January 2021 Rockstar Dundee's business and assets were transferred to Rockstar Games UK Limited. Following the transfer of trade and assets to Rockstar Games UK Limited, the company ceased trading. So the zero-employee figure is the figure for a company that stopped trading in January 2021. It says nothing whatsoever about how many people work on Grand Theft Auto VI in Scotland today. On this document's own account, staff who work in Dundee are employed by Rockstar Games UK Limited, a different legal entity. The accounts do not show that anyone left and they do not show that no GTA 6 work happens in Dundee. Note 1 records that the company is consolidated into the financial statements of Take-Two Interactive Software Inc. One thing this desk will not print. The director's surname coincides with the surname of a Take-Two insider named in filings this desk has covered. The studio name in the press has been a trading name rather than a registered company name for nearly five years, and the registered office is in London rather than Edinburgh. The filing that would actually matter is due after launch CONFIRMED. Rockstar Games UK Limited's own record states that its next accounts, made up to 31 March 2026, are due by 31 December 2026. Its last accounts, to 31 March 2025, were filed on 3 January 2026, 36 pages. Its latest filing is a CS01 confirmation statement filed 19 August 2026 for a statement made on 18 August 2026, with no updates. 31 December 2026 is after 19 November 2026. Nobody gets a look at the final development year of Grand Theft Auto VI, on paper, from the company that actually holds the studio, before the game ships. The limit that matters most This desk could not read a single figure out of Rockstar Games UK Limited's accounts.
