GTA 6 Preload: 7 Days Fits Only Two of Six Store Rows
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news5 min read
This desk's editor fetched https://store.rockstargames.com/game/buy-gta-vi at HTTP 200 and 1,064,822 bytes at 2026-09-30T03:11:32Z and counted the epoch fields row by row. CONFIRMED by that fetch: preloadDate 1794470400000 on all six rows, decoding to 2026-11-12T08:00:00Z; releaseDate 1795064400000 on four rows, decoding to 2026-11-19T05:00:00Z; releaseDate 1795075200000 on two rows, decoding to 2026-11-19T08:00:00Z; preorderDate 1780286400000 on two rows and 1781845200000 on four; and stockAvailable 0 on the two priced SKUs 357725-US and 357733-US with the field empty on the four link out rows. Also CONFIRMED: the PlayStation Store en-gb Standard page EP1004-PPSA01547_00-GTAVISTANDARD001 at HTTP 200 and 458,438 bytes and the Ultimate page EP1004-PPSA01547_00-GTAVIULTIMATE001 at HTTP 200 and 488,034 bytes, both at 2026-09-30T03:12:03Z, both serving releaseDate 2026-11-19T00:00:00Z and both carrying the feature bullet 7-Day Pre-load, which is on both editions rather than Ultimate only. This desk's own arithmetic: the preload instant sits 604,800 seconds, exactly 7 days, before the 08:00Z release rows and 594,000 seconds, 6 days 21 hours or 165 hours or 6.875 days, before the 05:00Z rows; the two release instants differ by 10,800 seconds, exactly 3 hours; and 30 September to 19 November is 50 days. LIMITS printed in full: the preload date is not new to this site and both prior pieces are linked in the copy; the buy page row split is identical to the 28 September reading so no change story is filed and the two byte difference in page size is not treated as one; a storefront field is metadata and not an announcement, and Rockstar has announced no preload time or unlock time; the PlayStation 00:00Z value most likely means a date with no time set and no midnight unlock is being claimed; all egress from this desk resolves to the United States so locale paths may still serve US rows; and no checkout was attempted. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows ClaudeBot by name and this desk's fetches use a standard desktop browser user agent.
All six product rows on Rockstar's own Grand Theft Auto VI buy page carry the same preload instant, 2026-11-12T08:00:00Z. Four of those rows carry a release instant of 05:00Z and two carry 08:00Z. PlayStation, separately, advertises a feature bullet reading "7-Day Pre-load" in plain English on both editions. Run the subtraction and the label is exactly true for two rows out of six. This is a narrow story about a label and an arithmetic mismatch, and it is worth exactly as much as that sounds.
The preload date itself is old news on this site. This desk published 12 November from Rockstar's own store records on 28 September, in gta-6-preload-november-12-rockstar-store-sku-records-checked, and covered the local midnight against 08:00Z question in gta-6-preload-local-midnight-versus-0800-utc-two-rockstar-statements. Nobody should read this article as a new date. The date is the same date. What is new here is the arithmetic against the release instants and the label Sony puts on it.
What this desk fetched, and what it read
CONFIRMED. The editor fetched https://store.rockstargames.com/game/buy-gta-vi and received HTTP 200 at 1,064,822 bytes at 2026-09-30T03:11:32Z, then counted the epoch fields in the embedded page data row by row.
Field and valueRows carrying itDecoded instant
preloadDate 17944704000006 of 62026-11-12T08:00:00Z
releaseDate 17950644000004 of 62026-11-19T05:00:00Z
releaseDate 17950752000002 of 62026-11-19T08:00:00Z
preorderDate 17802864000002 of 62026-06-01T04:00:00Z
preorderDate 17818452000004 of 62026-06-19T05:00:00Z
The editor also read stockAvailable as 0 on the two priced SKUs, 357725-US and 357733-US, with the field empty on the four link out rows. That reading is recorded for completeness and nothing in this article rests on it.
Separately, the editor fetched both PlayStation Store product pages in the en-gb locale. EP1004-PPSA01547_00-GTAVISTANDARD001 returned HTTP 200 at 458,438 bytes and EP1004-PPSA01547_00-GTAVIULTIMATE001 returned HTTP 200 at 488,034 bytes, both at 2026-09-30T03:12:03Z. Both carry the feature bullet "7-Day Pre-load". The bullet is on both editions, not on Ultimate alone, which is worth saying because the upgrade is usually where the extras live.
The arithmetic, which is this desk's own
Every figure in this section is computed by this desk from the epoch values above. None of it is a Rockstar statement.
IntervalSecondsIn plain terms
Preload 08:00Z to the 08:00Z release rows604,800Exactly 7 days
Preload 08:00Z to the 05:00Z release rows594,0006 days 21 hours, or 165 hours, or 6.875 days
Between the two release instants10,800Exactly 3 hours
30 September to 19 November 2026n/a50 days
So the "7-Day Pre-load" label is exactly true against the two rows that release at 08:00Z, and three hours short against the four rows that release at 05:00Z. Nobody is being misled by three hours, and this desk is not suggesting otherwise. What it does show is that a marketing bullet and a storefront timestamp field were written by different people against different numbers, which is the normal condition of a large release and is the entire point of checking.
Nothing changed since 28 September
This part matters more than the label does, because a change story here would be wrong. The buy page's four 05:00Z rows and two 08:00Z rows are identical to what this desk published on 28 September. Batch 55's own table recorded exactly that split, from a fetch of the same page at 1,064,820 bytes. Today's fetch reads 1,064,822 bytes and the same split. No release instant moved, no row was added and no row was removed.
One related claim was checked and dropped for the same reason. A 00:00Z instant has been discussed as having vanished from the buy page. It was never a buy page value. It is a PlayStation page value, and PlayStation still serves "releaseDate":"2026-11-19T00:00:00Z" on both product pages as of 2026-09-30T03:12:03Z. Nothing disappeared and nothing changed.
What a storefront field is and is not
A preloadDate in a storefront's page data is storefront metadata. It is a value a commerce system uses to decide when a download button becomes available. Rockstar has published no Newswire post announcing a preload time, has announced no unlock time for the game, and has made no public commitment that this desk could find to any of the instants above. Anybody quoting 08:00Z as an announcement is quoting a database field as though it were a press release.
The useful thing about having Sony's bullet next to Rockstar's epoch is that two independent parties agree on the day. Sony's plain English "7-Day Pre-load", counted back from a 19 November release, lands on 12 November. Rockstar's field says 12 November. The day is as solid as unannounced information gets. The hour is not, and the three hour discrepancy is the proof of it.
For the fuller history of this question on this site, including the two prior pieces linked at the top, see the news index. For the communities organising around launch night, see the server list.
Limits, stated plainly
The preload date is not new. It is already published on this site twice, both pieces are linked above, and this article exists for the arithmetic and the label rather than for the date.
Nothing changed on the buy page. The row split is identical to the 28 September reading. This desk is explicitly not filing a change story, and the two byte difference in page size between the two fetches is not treated as one either.
A storefront field is not an announcement. Rockstar has announced no preload time and no unlock time. Every interpretation of a commerce field in this article is labelled as inference and belongs to this desk.
The 00:00Z value on PlayStation most likely means a date with no time set. This desk is not claiming Sony is promising a midnight unlock, and the value is printed only to show that it is still there.
All egress from this desk resolves to the United States. Locale specific paths may still serve US rows, so the row counts above describe what a US resolved request sees.
No checkout was attempted. Nothing was purchased, no cart was created and no account was used. Every figure came from reading a public page.
One fetch each, one instant each. The byte sizes and timestamps above describe those pages as served at that moment, and a storefront can be redeployed at any time.
Retrieval method, disclosed. rockstargames.com/robots.txt disallows a named list of automated agents, ClaudeBot among them. Every fetch of a Rockstar property recorded above, and the PlayStation fetches alongside them, used a standard desktop browser user agent against a specific public URL. Nothing was crawled.
