FiveM Enhanced Still Has No Asset Escrow, Ten Days In
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news9 min read
Ten days into FiveM for GTAV Enhanced early access, asset escrow is still missing, pure mode cannot be turned off and graphic mods are unusable. We read the documentation and the July 27 community spotlight, and correct two claims about the player cap and the performance figures.
FiveM for GTAV Enhanced went into early access on July 21, 2026. Ten days later we read Cfx.re's own comparison documentation at https://docs.fivem.net/docs/developers/legacy-vs-enhanced/ and found this line still sitting in it, verbatim:
"Asset Escrow: Not implemented yet"
Asset escrow lets a creator sell a script without shipping readable source code to every buyer, and it is the load-bearing beam under the paid FiveM asset economy. On the next-generation client it does not exist yet, and Cfx.re says so itself.
What else the comparison page says
The same document sets out what changed underneath Enhanced, in its own words.
Networking model: "FiveM for GTAV Enhanced no longer uses P2P synchronization and has instead switched to a client-server model."
Runtime: "Mono was replaced by .NET. The only requirement for .NET is a .NET 10 SDK and optionally some IDE."
Pure mode: "Pure mode is now always enabled and can no longer be turned off. While FiveM for GTAV Enhanced is in early access, graphic mods cannot be used."
HTTP: "sv_netHttp2: HTTP/2 support removed"
OneSync: "OneSync non-big mode: No longer exists; OneSync big mode is now the only mode."
The pure mode line deserves a second read if your server's selling point is a visual identity. Anyone who built a community around a particular graphics package has nothing to migrate to yet.
What Cfx.re published on July 27
We also retrieved the Cfx.re forum post "Community Spotlight: July 2026" at https://forum.cfx.re/t/community-spotlight-july-2026/5417027, posted July 27, 2026 at 1:50pm. It carries the second half of this story, a note on the Cfx Marketplace:
"Due to high interest in Marketplace, we are currently reviewing a large volume of applications. Our team is working hard to process submissions as quickly and carefully as possible, and we appreciate your patience throughout this process."
So Cfx.re is working through a backlog of applications from creators wanting to sell paid assets, at the same moment its next-generation client has no mechanism to protect them. Both true on the same day, from the same organisation.
The rest of the spotlight is a community roundup. It highlights uzscript's AutoShot, "an automatic clothing thumbnail generator for FiveM", described as "framework-independent", and W-Labs' Tablet System, which "combines a sleek, modern UI with an extensive suite of in-game social, media, and communication tools". On the server side it features Ebonridge, "a supernatural-themed RedM roleplay server set in a dark and mysterious frontier", and Claws & Coffee Cat Cafe, "a cat-themed cafe interior which features custom props and unique interactions". From June 22 to 29 the Prodigy server ran a creator fundraiser with the American Heart Association, which per the post has "raised over $160,000 so far".
What Cfx.re said in its development updates
The three Development Updates are Cfx.re forum posts. Our researcher read them; we did not re-fetch them, so each item below is attributed to Cfx.re with its post date and treated as reported rather than verified by us.
Development Update #1, March 18, 2026. Qualitative only. Its most concrete line for operators is that "a Platinum tier Element Club subscription is still required to access up to 2048 player slots".
Development Update #2, July 1, 2026. Escrow would not be available at early access launch and would arrive later, with Cfx.re acknowledging that "most production servers will want to wait for this feature". The post also described a WebSocket-based handshake replacing UDP, warned that existing server DDoS protections require updates, and confirmed Enhanced runs as a separate client alongside Legacy.
Development Update #3, July 15, 2026. This is where the numbers live. Network sync moves to "120 updates per second, up from the previous 30". Memory work is described as "reducing RAM usage by up to 50%". State bag operations are "10x faster on average". A new "Cfx Server" download replaces FXServer artifacts while retaining txAdmin integration. The stack is NodeJS 26 server side and V8 14.6.202 client side alongside .NET 10, Perfetto replaces the legacy profiler, and more than 80 Prometheus metrics are exposed, up from 3. Cfx.re warned at launch on July 21, 2026 that the build "will contain bugs and missing features".
Correction one: the 2,048 player cap has not been raised
Several outlets and, more often, hosting-company blogs have written that Enhanced pushes past the old 2,048 player ceiling. It does not. Update #3 frames going beyond 2,048 as an intention with community playtesting planned, and an intention with playtesting attached is not a shipped capability. The cap stands today and remains behind a Platinum tier Element Club subscription, exactly as Update #1 described on March 18, 2026. Choose a host for a higher player ceiling in Enhanced and you are buying something that has not shipped.
Correction two: the performance numbers are from July 15, not March 18
The 120 updates per second figure and the up to 50% RAM reduction are being cited to the March 18, 2026 update in several places. They are not in it. Update #1 made qualitative claims only, and both figures date from Update #3 on July 15, 2026. The date changes what they mean: figures published four months before early access would be projections, while figures published six days before it are close to what shipped.
The unresolved question operators actually need answered
Commercial hosting blogs are telling operators that existing Lua, JavaScript and C# resources run on Enhanced without rewrites. That sits awkwardly next to Cfx.re's own line that "Mono was replaced by .NET" with a .NET 10 SDK requirement, because replacing a runtime is not usually transparent for compiled assemblies. Development Update #2 does say the old API remains supported, a genuine point in the "it will mostly work" column, but API compatibility and binary compatibility are separate things.
We could not resolve whether existing C# assemblies must be recompiled against .NET 10, and we will not state an answer we do not have. Two things are worth weighing meanwhile. Hosting vendors have a commercial interest in migration sounding easy, because friction is the main thing between them and a second wave of server orders. And Lua and JavaScript resources carry a different risk profile from compiled C# ones, which a blanket "everything just works" claim flattens.
Our analysis: why the top of the scene has reason to sit still
Labelled as ours. Rockstar-owned Cfx.re is scaling up a curated paid-asset marketplace, to the point of publicly apologising for how long applications are taking, while its next-generation client carries a line reading "Asset Escrow: Not implemented yet".
For a server whose economy is built on paid scripts, those two facts point in opposite directions. Migrating today would mean running paid assets on a client with no escrow protection, and Update #2 already conceded that "most production servers will want to wait for this feature". When the platform holder tells you to wait, waiting is not conservatism. We name no server as having migrated or not, and quote no Marketplace prices, because we verified neither.
Confirmed, reported and unconfirmed
Confirmed (our own retrieval of docs.fivem.net legacy-vs-enhanced, July 31, 2026): "Asset Escrow: Not implemented yet", plus every other quoted line above, including the P2P to client-server switch, Mono replaced by .NET, permanent pure mode, HTTP/2 removed and OneSync big mode as the only mode.
Confirmed (our retrieval of "Community Spotlight: July 2026", July 27, 2026 at 1:50pm): Cfx.re is "currently reviewing a large volume of applications" for Marketplace, and the June 22 to 29 Prodigy fundraiser with the American Heart Association has "raised over $160,000 so far".
Reported (Cfx.re, Development Update #2, July 1, 2026): Escrow is unavailable at launch and arrives later, with Cfx.re acknowledging that "most production servers will want to wait for this feature". A WebSocket handshake replaces UDP, DDoS protections require updates, and Enhanced runs alongside Legacy.
Reported (Cfx.re, Development Update #3, July 15, 2026): Every figure quoted above, including "120 updates per second, up from the previous 30", "reducing RAM usage by up to 50%" and state bags "10x faster on average".
Reported (Cfx.re, Development Update #1, March 18, 2026): "a Platinum tier Element Club subscription is still required to access up to 2048 player slots". Early access went live July 21, 2026 with a warning that the build "will contain bugs and missing features".
Confirmed correction: Enhanced has not raised the 2,048 player cap. Update #3 frames exceeding it as an intention with playtesting planned, and the cap remains behind a Platinum tier Element Club subscription.
Confirmed correction: The 120 updates per second and up to 50% RAM figures come from Update #3 of July 15, 2026. Attributing them to Update #1 of March 18, 2026 is a misattribution, since that post was qualitative only.
Unresolved, and stated as unresolved: Whether existing C# assemblies require recompilation against .NET 10. Hosting blogs say Lua, JavaScript and C# resources run without rewrites; the documentation says Mono was replaced by .NET; Update #2 says the old API remains supported. We could not close the gap between API and binary compatibility.
Our analysis, labelled as such: Rockstar-owned Cfx.re is scaling a paid-asset marketplace at the same moment its next-generation client has no escrow to protect paid assets, which gives the paid-asset scene a reason to stay on Legacy for now.
Not claimed: That any specific server has or has not migrated, and no Marketplace listing prices, because we verified neither.
Not confirmed: When escrow ships, when the player cap moves, when graphic mod support returns, and how long Marketplace review is taking.
Cfx.re has been unusually straightforward about what is missing from early access. The operators making good decisions are reading the platform's own documentation rather than a host's landing page, and that documentation says the thing which protects paid work is not implemented yet. GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. We will keep tracking Cfx.re's updates on our news hub, and you can browse the communities building through the transition on our servers list.
