Character customisation is one of the most thoroughly confirmed GTA 6 systems. Rockstar's official screenshots and pre-order materials from late June 2026 establish a deep styling suite covering clothes, hairstyles and tattoos — and, as reported by GamesRadar and Gfinity, it reaches further still: players can fine-tune Lucia's makeup and adjust fingernail length, colour and style.

Fingernail detail is a signal of how far the personalisation runs. When a system reaches down to nail length and colour, the broader wardrobe and grooming options are clearly built with real depth rather than a token slider or two.

Tied to real in-world shops

Customisation is anchored to named businesses rather than abstract menus. The official screenshots confirm a clothing store called Stock 305, a hair salon called Sara's Unisex Salon and a tattoo parlour called Electric Fang Tattoo, with styling tied to distinct regional businesses so that where you go shapes what you can change. Vehicle styling follows the same shop-based model — see vehicle customization.

What the screenshots do not show

The venues and systems are confirmed to exist; their depth is not yet demonstrated. Exact option counts, how customisation ties into the story, and the shape of every menu remain unshown, and fan close-readings such as precise hairstyle counts are community interpretation rather than Rockstar figures. The screenshots are also stills, not gameplay footage. The full catalogue of what the imagery confirms is in the official screenshots breakdown.

Separately, trailer analysis suggests appearance may also change dynamically — Jason's hair, beard and physique vary across scenes — but that is unconfirmed speculation covered under RPG mechanics, not part of the confirmed shop-based system.
