Rockstar's reveal materials, shared through outlets including VGC, framed Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos as a romantic criminal partnership "in the vein of Bonnie and Clyde" — though some coverage notes the Bonnie-and-Clyde label lives in press descriptions of those materials rather than as a direct Rockstar quote. The official Newswire bios are unambiguous: Lucia begins the story having served time in Leonida Penitentiary for a crime tied to fighting for her family, while Jason is a failed soldier turned drug runner in the Keys, connected to the trafficker Brian Heder.
