What-Up is the presumed messaging brand behind what-up.app, one of eight web domains that dataminer Tez2 surfaced in September 2025 as registered on May 27, 2025 under Take-Two's nameservers. The registration itself is the solid part of the story: domain ownership and nameserver records are WHOIS-checkable, which puts what-up.app in the verified column of the wider parody domains find.

The reading is the speculative part. According to Sportskeeda's coverage of the batch, what-up.app was decoded almost immediately as a WhatsApp parody, and the name lines up neatly. But Rockstar has not labelled the domain, tied it to the game, or confirmed that it becomes anything at all. It could be an in-game app, a marketing site, or dormant trademark protection.

If the messaging-app reading proves out, What-Up would slot naturally into Grand Theft Auto VI's in-game phone and social layer, continuing the tradition that gave GTA 5 its Lifeinvader send-up of Facebook.
