GTA 6's Physical Edition Is a Code in a Box, Not a Disc, Rockstar Confirms

Rockstar has settled one of the more practical questions about buying GTA 6, and the answer has annoyed a good number of collectors. If you order a boxed copy, there will not be a game disc inside it. In a statement issued as pre-orders opened, the studio confirmed the GTA 6 physical edition is a download code in a box rather than a playable disc.The wording, reported by Push Square on June 24, 2026, is blunt. "Physical copies of GTAVI will contain a code that can be redeemed for the digital download of the game," Rockstar said. "A disc will not be included in the box."
