GTA 6 Pre-Order Bonus: Two Deadlines, Eleven Months Apart
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news7 min read
The purchase deadline and the claim deadline are eleven months apart and they do not appear on the same page, which is the easiest mistake to make with this offer. We set out both platforms' wording verbatim, including the once-per-account rule and the stacking carve-out that lets existing GTA+ subscribers add the month to a running subscription. The exclusion list names Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, the Russian Federation and Taiwan, and it applies to the GTA+ bonus rather than to the game's availability. Separately, and by a different mechanism, Japan and Australia return an error on the PlayStation product ID linked from Rockstar's own site while eleven other regions return 200, and neither country is on the exclusion list. The non-USD price table across seven markets comes from Microsoft's catalog, which is why an Australian dollar price exists for a market whose PlayStation listing does not resolve.
There are two deadlines attached to the Grand Theft Auto VI pre-order bonus and they are eleven months apart. One is the date by which you have to buy. The other is the date by which you have to claim. Conflating them is the easiest mistake to make with this offer, and the two dates do not even sit on the same page.
Everything below is quoted from Sony's own support article and from Microsoft's product catalog, both read this morning.
Deadline one: buy before 20 November 2026
CONFIRMED, from PlayStation's GTA VI offer terms page, HTTP 200, 156,737 bytes, fetched at 03:06:49 UTC on 3 September 2026. Verbatim:
Pre-order or purchase GTAVI from PlayStation Store before November 20, 2026.
The game releases on 19 November 2026. So on the PlayStation side, the purchase window runs right through launch day and closes at the end of it.
Xbox states the same requirement with a hard clock on it. From the DisplayCatalog product description, read at 03:01:12 UTC, verbatim:
Purchase prior to 19 November 2026 23:59:59 to receive: -The Vintage Vice City Pack -One Month of GTA+
And the catalog's own availability window for the pre-order conditions runs from a StartDate of 2026-06-25T04:00:00Z to an EndDate of 2026-11-19T04:59:59Z.
Those are two differently phrased cut-offs and it is worth being precise about the difference. Sony says before 20 November. Microsoft's consumer copy says before 23:59:59 on 19 November, and its machine-readable condition ends at 04:59:59 UTC on 19 November, which is midnight Eastern. If you are close to the line, buy on the platform you intend to play on and do not assume the other one's wording applies.
Deadline two: claim by 31 March 2027
CONFIRMED, same PlayStation page. Verbatim:
You need to complete these steps by March 31, 2027, to claim the offer.
Four months after release, and more than four months after the purchase deadline. If you buy in November and forget about the GTA+ month, you have until the end of March to remember.
The Xbox side runs a rolling window instead of a fixed date, verbatim from the same product description: the bonus "must be redeemed within 180 days after placing your pre-order". So an Xbox pre-order placed on 25 June 2026 and one placed on 19 November 2026 have completely different redemption expiry dates, and neither of them is 31 March 2027. This is the sort of split we have written about before in our piece on the GTA+ redemption deadline split between the two platforms.
Two more conditions from Sony's page, both verbatim, both easy to trip over:
The GTA+ subscription offer can only be claimed once-per-account, regardless of additional purchases.
Existing GTA+ subscribers can stack the Month onto their existing subscription. Stacking is usually not supported by GTA+ on PlayStation Store.
The second one is a genuine carve-out. If you already subscribe, the month is added rather than wasted, which the platform does not normally allow.
The eight excluded PlayStation country stores
CONFIRMED, verbatim from the same page. The territory line reads:
All PlayStation Country Stores, excluding Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russian Federation, Taiwan.
Read as written, the GTA+ component of this offer is available across PlayStation's country stores with those eight carved out. If your account sits on one of those eight stores, the bonus month is not part of what you are buying.
This is a hedge and it is mandatory. That exclusion list applies to the GTA+ bonus. It is not a statement about where the game is available, and nothing on that page says Grand Theft Auto VI cannot be bought in those eight territories. Do not read it as an availability list.
A separate gap, which is not the same thing
There is a different regional problem, and it involves different countries and a different mechanism, so we are keeping the two apart rather than folding them into one paragraph.
CONFIRMED as an HTTP behaviour. Of fourteen PlayStation Store regions probed at 03:02:53 UTC and re-verified at 03:03:23 UTC, exactly two returned a hard product error for the standard edition product ID linked from Rockstar's own site: Japan and Australia. Both returned an HTTP 302 to a store error route. The Australian result held for the Ultimate Edition product ID as well. Eleven other regions returned HTTP 200, and Russia redirects to the US page, which is a fallback rather than an error.
Neither Japan nor Australia appears on the eight-country GTA+ exclusion list. These are two separate mechanisms, and merging them would produce a sentence that is wrong about both. What we can say is that a 302 to an error route means the product ID does not resolve in that storefront, at that product ID, today. What we cannot say is that anything is banned, blocked or deliberately withheld, because nothing supports that, and storefronts do have regional plumbing faults. A region-specific SKU could exist under an ID we did not find. Our earlier work on the pre-order country gap between PlayStation and Xbox covers the pattern.
What it costs, outside the United States
The dollar prices have been public since June and we have covered them at length. The non-USD figures are the new part. CONFIRMED from Microsoft's catalog, all HTTP 200, fetched between 03:01:43 and 03:01:45 UTC on 3 September, standard edition:
MarketStandard edition price, exact
United States79.99 USD
United Kingdom69.99 GBP
Germany79.99 EUR
Japan9800.0 JPY
Brazil449.9 BRL
Australia129.95 AUD
Korea89800.0 KRW
Ultimate Edition in the United States reads 99.99 USD. The PlayStation Store US page carries the matching strings, "basePrice":"$79.99" and "basePrice":"$99.99".
Note where those figures come from. They are Microsoft catalog values, which is why an Australian dollar price exists in this table for a market whose PlayStation storefront returns an error on the product ID we tested. Those are different storefronts run by different companies, and one having a price does not tell you anything about the other having a listing.
What to actually do
If you want the Vintage Vice City Pack and the GTA+ month, buy on or before 19 November on Xbox, or before 20 November on PlayStation, and use the platform you plan to play on. If you are on PlayStation, put 31 March 2027 in a calendar and forget about it until then. If you are on Xbox, count 180 days forward from the day you actually place the order, because your window is personal to your purchase rather than fixed. If you already have GTA+ on PlayStation, the month stacks. And if your account sits on one of the eight named country stores, plan on not getting the GTA+ half of the bonus.
One more thing worth knowing before you buy: Sony's own support article states in plain English that "at the time of writing the age ratings for Grand Theft Auto VI are unconfirmed." That is the platform holder saying so on its own page, and it matches what we found today at both the ESRB and PEGI public databases, which return no entry for the game. We covered that in full yesterday, and it has not moved.
What is and is not established
CONFIRMED, verbatim from PlayStation's offer terms: purchase before 20 November 2026, and complete the claim steps by 31 March 2027. Once per account. Existing GTA+ subscribers can stack the month, which the platform does not normally support.
CONFIRMED, verbatim from Microsoft's catalog: purchase prior to 19 November 2026 23:59:59 for the Vintage Vice City Pack and one month of GTA+, redeemable within 180 days of placing the pre-order, with a machine-readable condition window ending 2026-11-19T04:59:59Z.
CONFIRMED, verbatim: the GTA+ offer excludes eight PlayStation country stores, being Bahrain, China, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Russian Federation and Taiwan.
Explicitly not claimed: that Grand Theft Auto VI is unavailable in those eight territories. The exclusion applies to the GTA+ bonus and not to the game.
CONFIRMED as an HTTP behaviour, and kept separate: Japan and Australia return a 302 to an error route for the PlayStation product ID linked from Rockstar's own site, while eleven other regions return 200. Neither country is on the GTA+ exclusion list, and these are two different mechanisms.
Explicitly not claimed: that the game is banned, blocked or deliberately withheld in Japan or Australia. Nothing supports that, and we tested one product ID.
CONFIRMED from Microsoft's catalog: standard edition prices of 79.99 USD, 69.99 GBP, 79.99 EUR, 9800.0 JPY, 449.9 BRL, 129.95 AUD and 89800.0 KRW, with the US Ultimate Edition at 99.99 USD.
CONFIRMED, verbatim from Sony: "at the time of writing the age ratings for Grand Theft Auto VI are unconfirmed."
Our full pre-order reference, including the editions and what is in each, sits on the wiki, with the rest of today's storefront work on the news desk. The servers list and the leaderboards are open while you wait.
