Panther Statue Returns to Cayo Perico From August 6
by 6Charts TeamCategory: news10 min read
The Panther Statue is back in El Rubio's vault from August 6 to August 12, reported as guaranteed on your first Cayo Perico Heist Finale of the week. Here is how to set the run up properly, what it is actually worth, and which parts of the event we read on Rockstar's own page.
The second week of the Summer Heist Event in GTA Online starts on August 6, and it brings back the single most valuable item in the game. The Panther Statue returns to El Rubio's vault, and several outlets report that it is guaranteed to turn up as the primary target on your first run of The Cayo Perico Heist Finale for the whole of that week. If you have never pulled it, this is your window, and it closes on August 12.
Before the detail, a word on where it comes from, because our sourcing here is lopsided. We opened Rockstar's own Newswire post for this event on August 5, 2026. The article body is rendered in JavaScript and returned no text to us at all. The only Rockstar string we actually read is the page description sitting in the raw HTML, which says: "Bask in two weeks of highly profitable criminal activity in GTA Online, as summer crowds flock to Southern San Andreas and Cayo Perico in search of lucrative treasures across the asphalt jungle and the sun-soaked shores." That one sentence is the entirety of what we read on Rockstar's site. Everything specific below reached us through other outlets, and it is labelled as reported throughout.
What is reported for week two
The Summer Heist Event is reported to run from July 30 to August 12, 2026, split into two weeks, with week two covering August 6 to August 12. GTA Intel, TheXboxHub and GTA BOOM carry broadly the same list, which we retrieved on August 5, 2026. All of the following is REPORTED, not read by us on Rockstar's site:
A 100 percent chance of the Panther Statue appearing as the primary target on your first playthrough of The Cayo Perico Heist Finale during the week.
The Panther Tour Jacket awarded for completing The Cayo Perico Heist Finale.
2X GTA$ and RP on Assault on Cayo Perico and on A Superyacht Life.
3X GTA$ and RP on the Community Mission Series.
A GTA$1,000,000 login bonus, reported as delivered within 72 hours rather than the moment you log in.
Cosmetics including the Sunset Glow Necklace and the Blue and Pink Glow Shades.
Treat that as a consensus across outlets with a decent record on event weeks, and check the in-game screens before you plan a whole evening around any one line of it.
Cayo Perico rewards the players who get the unglamorous preparation out of the way early in the week.
How to actually get it
The mechanic, as reported, keys off your first completed Finale inside the window. That has a handful of practical consequences worth spelling out before you load in.
Do the scoping trip early. The Cayo Perico Heist requires you to fly out to the island and scope the compound before the board is set and the preparation missions unlock. Get that groundwork done on the sixth or seventh and the rest of the week is free for the run itself.
Do not spend your first Finale on somebody else's board. The guarantee is reported as first playthrough only, so helping a friend through theirs before running your own is how people lose the statue every time this event comes around. Run yours first, then go and help.
Bring a crew if you can. The Panther Statue is a primary target, and how much of the total lands in your account depends on the cut you agree with the people you run it with. Gold, cocaine, cash and paintings gathered around the island stack on top of the primary take, and four players can carry a great deal more of it out than one player can.
Leave room for the cooldown. There is a cooldown between Finale runs, so a seven day window is not an unlimited farm. Plan for one very good heist rather than five.
What the run is worth
A full-crew Panther Statue run is reported to pay up to roughly GTA$4.19 million. Read that as a reported ceiling. It assumes a full team, the higher difficulty setting, and a thorough sweep of secondary loot on the way through the compound. Solo players and pairs should expect a good deal less.
The reported extras stack on top of whatever the heist pays. The GTA$1,000,000 login bonus asks nothing beyond turning up, though it is reported to arrive within 72 hours rather than instantly. GTA+ members also receive their monthly GTA$500,000, which is a benefit of the membership rather than of the event. The 2X and 3X multipliers give the week a decent floor even for players who never open the vault.
Why this week matters more than most
CONFIRMED: GTA 6 releases on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, at $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition. As of today, August 5, 2026, that is 106 days away. Pre-load begins at local midnight on November 12, and the physical box contains a download code with no disc inside it.
CONFIRMED: the Rockstar and Take-Two press release of June 24, 2026 describes GTA 6 as "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet." No GTA 6 Online has been announced. No PC version has been announced. So the GTA Online you are playing this week remains the only live Grand Theft Auto multiplayer anyone can point at, and there is no published date on which that changes.
That is the real reason to take week two seriously. Every previous Cayo Perico event week has been followed by another one. This is the last one of its kind before a new Grand Theft Auto exists, and the schedule beyond November is a blank page.
One more thing worth knowing before Friday. Take-Two reports Q1 FY2027 results before market open on Friday, August 7, 2026, with a call at 8:00 a.m. ET, per a take2games.com press release dated July 9, 2026. We ran an SEC full-text search ourselves on August 5, 2026 for "Grand Theft Auto VI" across Take-Two 8-K and DEFA14A filings from July 20 to August 5, 2026, and it returns zero hits. A control query on the same endpoint returns exactly one result, the DEF 14A filed on July 27, 2026, which tells us the search works. Take-Two has filed nothing about GTA 6 ahead of Friday. Whatever gets said about the game this week gets said on the call.
What we confirmed and what we did not
Confirmed (our own retrieval, August 5, 2026): Rockstar's Newswire page description for the Summer Heist Event reads "Bask in two weeks of highly profitable criminal activity in GTA Online, as summer crowds flock to Southern San Andreas and Cayo Perico in search of lucrative treasures across the asphalt jungle and the sun-soaked shores."
Not read at source, stated plainly: the Newswire article body. It is rendered in JavaScript and returned no text to us. We read the page description in the raw HTML and nothing else on Rockstar's site.
Reported, not confirmed: the July 30 to August 12, 2026 event window and the August 6 to August 12 week two split. Attributed to GTA Intel, TheXboxHub and GTA BOOM.
Reported, not confirmed: the 100 percent Panther Statue chance on a first Cayo Perico Heist Finale playthrough during week two, and the Panther Tour Jacket for completing the Finale.
Reported, not confirmed: 2X GTA$ and RP on Assault on Cayo Perico and A Superyacht Life, 3X on the Community Mission Series, a GTA$1,000,000 login bonus delivered within 72 hours, and the Sunset Glow Necklace and Blue and Pink Glow Shades.
Reported ceiling, not a guarantee: roughly GTA$4.19 million for a full-crew Panther Statue run. The actual figure depends on crew size, difficulty and how much secondary loot you clear.
Confirmed: GTA 6 releases November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at $79.99 Standard and $99.99 Ultimate, with pre-load from local midnight on November 12 and a download code rather than a disc in the physical box.
Confirmed: the June 24, 2026 press release calls GTA 6 "a single-player experience set in the biggest, most immersive evolution of the series yet." No GTA 6 Online and no PC version has been announced.
Confirmed (our own EDGAR check, August 5, 2026): SEC full-text search for "Grand Theft Auto VI" across Take-Two 8-K and DEFA14A filings from July 20 to August 5, 2026 returns zero hits, with a control query returning the DEF 14A filed July 27, 2026.
Mandatory hedge, stated as such: the GTA+ monthly GTA$500,000 is a membership benefit, not a Summer Heist reward, and it arrives whether or not you play the event.
Our advice for the week is straightforward. Scope the island on the sixth, run your own Finale before you help anyone with theirs, take a crew, and do not chase the ceiling figure. We will carry any correction the moment Rockstar's own wording becomes readable to us, on our news page, and if you are putting a crew together for the run or looking ahead to where you will be playing after November, our servers list is the place to start.
